You know I want to do the same on buying a Hatch to Built, But I end up thinking of something else to do to my 4-Dr and there goes some Ca$h..... I drive my Ride Everyday too and always wanted Air Ride for my Car since the day I bought it..... Actually, Before I bought my Civic I've been thinking of that, and I knew that a 4-Dr will be perfect for that, so I went shopping for a 4-Dr, and I found this one in a Lot.. It has a sh!t load of miles for a '98, but it was stock and I had to buy it.. Little by little for the past 21 months I've been spoiling my Civic!! My point is, > I knew how Air Ride felt like, and I love the way it waives in the Streets and Highways (course in the Highways you need to slow down a bit). They say it not for Daily Driving...... I've seen a lot of characters put Air Ride and take it off for that fact!! If you do it yourself, you'll save around $1,100 Bucks... Yup!! Well,, at least I did. Course It took me around a week 1/2 to Install everything for the suspension while my Interior was getting done. I completely stripped my Interior Myself & I did all of that in like 3 weeks! (Suspension & Interior) Cause I like taking my sweet @ss time with things!! Don't forget that I had to carpool it with a buddy to work in the mean time!!!!

I didn't mean for it to sound like I was down talking you at first, I was just trying to help you out. Sorry if I sounded cocky.

Anyways, the truth about Accords is that they are heavy cars, and it's going to take quite a bit of work to make one go fast. By just swapping the engine to an H22 (and leaving everything else the same, like stock wheels, no engine mods, etc.) a 94-97 Accord is still going to be running in the high 15 range for a quarter-mile time. Not extremely impressive, but better than the 16s you would get with a completely stock motor. An H22 motor can go either way in terms of building options, meaning it will work as a naturally aspirated motor or as a turbo motor. Either way can produce potent results. There was an article in Honda Tuning a few years back about an all-motor H22 Accord putting out nearly 300 wheel horse power, which is very impressive. The guy was boasting about how he could take on Vettes and Camaros. Numbers like that can also be achieved using boost, but the H22 has a fairly high compression ratio, so if you are going to apply any large amount of boost to it, it becomes necessary to rebuild the motor with lower compression in mind, and that can become expensive.

All-motor builds can be quite expensive too however, so to answer your question, yes, cars like ours can be made to go fast, but it really depends on how deep your wallet is as to how fast you can go.

Thanks for your comments. You have a great starter car. I was reading the comments below and d@mn there is some arguing going on, eh? Here is everything you need to know. I'm an old assed kat that ran a car club for 12 years. Been doing this sh@! for a long time and have owned many honda's and two integra's. I've raced out a few and I've shown a few. Bottom line is, you do what you want. It doesn't matter what people think. Blue is right about is 19" logic. I use 19"s on my current accord because I show it. I used to race this same car, but back then I had 17"s. So in a nut shell, study facts and build from that. Good luck on your project and "F" the haters. Believe accord-guy if you want, but I'm telling you that 19" wheels with low-pros would be a great choice for a show car, but not such a good choice for a car that you plan on driving hard on the street or for the car that you drive on a daily basis. If you were to hit a pot hole or a rock going 60 or 70 running low pros you're probably looking at a bent rim and possibly even a car wreck! They will help improve cornering ability, but then again so will thicker sport tires on a smaller wheel and a tightly set-up suspension. And 19s (even sporty ones) are heavy enough to slow down how fast your car will accelerate and they may also impede your handling abilities and wear out your suspension components faster than normal. And if you do end up lowering your car like you are planning to then the tires will probably rub against your fender, especially when you hit a bump, and that will cause the suspension and the tires to wear out faster...and I seriously doubt that you are going to be wanting to replace 19" low-pro tires very often as they are quite expensive.
If you look around on the site you will notice that most of the cars that actually have balls are running 17” or smaller rims. Now if you want 19s because you like how they look, then by all means get 19s; I’m just trying to tell you that they’re really not the best choice for a street car that will be driven hard, and give you a realistic expectation of potential issues you might face when switching to that large of a wheel size…
So have you decided between “aspirated” or “non-aspirated” yet? LOL!!!!!

I'm not giving you advice because I think that I'm "hot sh*t," I'm giving you advice because YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT! You sound like an idiot! All cars are "aspirated" because they all suck in AIR to mix with the fuel! A car that's setup to use "pure engine strength" is called "naturally aspirated" and a car that has a turbo or supercharger is referred to as "boosted."
Using terms like "aspirated" and "non-aspirated" makes you sound stupid and people will make fun of you so I just thought that I would help you out but you decided to be a jerk so whatever...and I gave you good information too! I said go to the forums and read some of the articles on naturally aspirated vs. turbo to learn about the advantages/disadvantages of each but once again, you decided to be an a-hole so whatever, just keep on being uninformed and sounding like a moron...
And by the way, if you would have read my comments I said that I'm not putting anymore money into my Accord because I'm selling it in the spring to get a truck! Don't make assumptions about me you little high schooler! I'm 23, and this is the fourth Honda that I've owned, and judging from the crap you write on your profile I obviously know lots more than you when it comes to cars!

Aspirated or non-aspirated? I think you might be confused...all cars are "aspirated," they need air to be funneled into the engine to mix with the fuel in the combustion chamber. The question is how much air are you going to pump into the engine?
Engines that don't have a turbo or supercharger are referred to as "naturally aspirated," meaning that they take in air through an intake system or an individual throttle body and then enters the engine where it mixes with the fuel.
Engines that have turbos or superchargers are referred to as "boosted" or "having boost." In these engines a power adding device (turbo or supercharger) is used to vastly increase the amount of air that is being forced into the engine, thereby increasing the horsepower produced.
As far as which one is better, it's really a matter of opinion and personal preference. I'd suggest that you check out our forums and read some of the FAQ material on naturally aspirated vs. boosted motors to learn about the advantages and disadvantages of each, and then you will be better equipped to make a decision.

I agree with Blue. I have the same make and model as yours but a 4 door LX. If you want a turbo it would really scream! But if you do a swap to a H22 that might be enough and modify the engine. Make the car function in all areas. Make it look good too. You are off to a great start. Later.

19" and "Racing Rims" do not belong in the same sentence together...if you're going to buy 19" Wheels then you might as well make them some ugly chrome dubs while you're at it...if you actually want something that won't inhibit your performance, then stick with the 15"-17" range...if the point of the huge wheels are too get rid of the gap between the wheel and the fender, just go with a smaller rim and lower the car a few inches...trust me, it will be much better performance wise...

And if you are planning a turbo then skip the header...no need to waste $200 or so on a header that you can't use with a turbo...might want to skip the exhaust too and just get a custom one later...
